Saddle Mountain Ranch & Lodge
Private Land Hunts

Saddle Mountain Ranches consists of roughly 40,000 mountainous acres between
several properties with a Modern Lodge centrally located near all of the properties!

This can be a rewarding and at times a physically demanding hunt, however if you show up in good shape, level head, have prepared & practiced (archery / rifle), then that will significantly increase your success.

We’ll utilize Trucks or Side by Side’s to reach our starting points, then will head out on foot from there.
Most days we will head back to the lodge or our “day camp” for a late breakfast / early lunch, we usually hang out during the middle of the day staying out of the elks bedrooms or on occasions may pack a lunch and spend the day on the side of a mountain somewhere, and all this can vary from day to day depending on weather conditions and or the elk habits during that particular day or week. Patient & Prepared.

This hunt is for averaged size bulls with the opportunity at respectable bulls that will typically score 220 - 280”,
however there is always a possibility of 290 - 310, with a few 320 - 340+ bulls but isn’t the norm to harvest.
